  • Make a new e-mail address that is just for scholarship information
  • Sign up for fastweb.com (use a new email address because you will get TONS of emails)
  • Don't ever pay for scholarship searches (always a scam)
  • Make a habit of searching for scholarships on your own. Look up things related to your student. Ex. scholarships for color guard, scholarships for people with diabetes, scholarships for Veteran's children etc

The priority deadline for applications to The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) and the Collegium V Honors Program is coming up soon! Any of your students interested in merit scholarships or college honors at UT Dallas such as the Eugene McDermott Scholars Program or the Academic Excellence Scholarship (AES) must apply for admission to the University by Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021.

The application for the Eugene McDermott Scholars Program will be opening soon. Steps for potential eligibility:

  1. Submit a UT Dallas application (with optional materials) by the priority deadline.

  2. Rank in the top academic 10th of the applicant pool as determined by UT Dallas Admissions' transcript evaluation.

  3. Receive a UT Dallas merit scholarship offer (usually AES).

The McDermott Scholars Program provides more than the cost of attendance and includes tuition, stipends, and enrichment resources such as study abroad funding and group travel.

 

The McDermott application will be due on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.

  • Applicants or their parents must be current members of the Louisiana Farm Bureau® Federation. 

  • Applicants must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher for 4 years of high school.

  • Applicants must graduate from high school in the spring of 2022. 

  • Applicants must attend an accredited Louisiana college or university during the fall and spring immediately following their high school graduation. The scholarship may not be deferred and is not available for summer terms. 

  • Applicants must pursue a career in agriculture by choosing a curriculum in agriculture, vocational agriculture, agribusiness, agriscience, or other curriculum directly benefiting the agricultural sector of Louisiana’s economy. 

  • Scholarship winners must earn a minimum grade point average of 2.5 during the first semester or quarter of fall 2022 and maintain a major course of study in agriculture for the remainder of the academic year to qualify for the additional payments.  

South Louisiana Electric Cooperatie Association (SLECA) Scholarship:

South LA Bank Scholarship:

The directors, officers and the employees of South Louisana Bank are excited to offer the Warren H. Bourgeois Memorial Scholarship to study a business curriculum at Nicholls State University.  The scholarship is for four consecutive years in the amount of $1,500 per semester (fall and spring semesters only).  As noted on the application form, certain initial and ongoing criteria apply. The scholarship will be awarded to a different Terrebonne Parish graduate each year. Due April 25, 2022.

Men's College Scholarship:

The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required. Apply by April 1, 2022.

Gerald Daigle Scholarship granted by LePetit Theatre de Terrebonne:

Must have a desire to obtain a major or minor college degree in an arts-related field.
For the purpose of this scholarship, an arts-related field will include music, dance,
communication arts, theatre, etc. Due April 15, 2022

Kiwanis Club of Houma

Medical Society of Terrebonne Scholarship Application

Consideration is given to students of high moral character who are involved in extracurricular and community activities.  The following criteria have been established:

  • Financial need

  • Resident of Terrebonne Parish

  • Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher

  • ACT score of 21 or higher

  • Enrollment in a health related field is not required

Women’s Business Alliance of Houma

Eligibility Requirements:

. Applicant must be a female graduating from high school in Terrebonne or Lafourche parishes.

2. Applicant must be entering a Louisiana college in the year of graduation.

Louisiana Farm Bureau Foundation, Inc "The Linda and Wayne Zaunbrecher Scholarship":

The scholarship pays full tuition and fees, a monthly stipend while in school and a book stipend each semester.  These scholarships coupled with other money from the university can result in a fully funded four year college education and guaranteed employment as a Naval officer upon graduation. Additionally, prior to scholarship activation, selectees must be found fully physically and medically qualified for the NROTC Scholarship program. We will help potential applicants through the entire process – application, interviews, medical examinations, etc. In order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship, applicants must have the following minimum individual scores in the SAT/ACT Math and Verbal:  ACT:  21 Math and 22 English
